For WEPA Nederland B.V. (formerly Van Houtum B.V.), a toilet hygiene solutions company with a Cradle-to-Cradle certificate, a desk organiser was made to stimulate paper recycling. A brief was made after the company noticed a decline in quality paper and were stagnating in their attempt to find new customers for their CO2 neutral product line: Satino Black.
As an answer, I created Carta, a welcome gift for new customers which stimulates the supply of quality paper, while combining the personal paperbin with the useful functions of a desk organiser.
To analyse the needs and wishes of the stakeholders, I interviewed facility managers and I held a questionnaire with 68 respondents. Following the results of the research the product was made easy to use because it also serves as a desk organizer and as a whiteboard. For size judgements I made several models of different sections of the product and I made one model of the total product that had the final measures.
